Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19 1965. She is an American producer and actress. Her role as the main character on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended following the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring character as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was one of the New York City native, the daughter Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), an educator and therapist for families and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI who was a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian. Sedgwick was of English descent. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has claimed that she attends in Passover seders.
